Ryder Building Group

Cruikshank Street – Port Melbourne

Encompasses the old with the new giving the home the identity of a contemporary home.

This distinct architecturally designed home is layered with a stunning use of clean lines and raw materials.

Consisting of metal clad external finishes, slab hydronic heating, heatwood blackbutt ceramic backed flooring and large floor to ceiling glazing with curved tones throughout.

The front of the house was preserved, keeping its original Victorian Heritage features, but polished and refined with the standard practicality of modern Australian living.

The clients brief was simple – space and light.

The architect perfectly accomplished this brief by creating a light filled spacious kitchen and open living area looking out through double glazed sliding doors to the backyard where a private studio sits above the garage.

This renovation created an upstairs retreat, with sun filled bedrooms, sliding doors to a timber embraced loggia, herb balcony, study area and secluded sundeck.

Winters Architecture’s Port Melbourne House was shortlisted at the 2018 Houses Awards and one where Ryder Building Group happily and effectively executed the design.
